About
I’m a final-year Geography BSc student at the University of St Andrews, specialising in GIS and marine spatial planning. My work sits at the intersection of spatial data analysis, offshore renewable energy, and maritime operations.
Technical Skills
I work primarily with Python (geopandas, rasterio, shapely, scikit-learn, matplotlib) and QGIS for spatial analysis, alongside R for statistical visualisation. My dissertation applies Multi-Criteria Evaluation and DBSCAN clustering to map spatial conflicts between offshore wind development and maritime uses in the Moray Firth.
Maritime Background
Alongside my academic work, I hold qualifications as a Senior sailing instructor and powerboat instructor, and serve in the Royal Navy Reserves. This operational experience informs how I approach marine spatial data — particularly around vessel behaviour, navigational constraints, and the practical realities that don’t always show up in datasets.
Currently
Completing my dissertation and seeking GIS analyst roles in marine and offshore environments. Open to opportunities in the UK and Canada.
